Microsoft has released ActiveSync 4.2. The new version was released to resolve some issues found in previous versions of the AvtiveSync 4.x series. Here is a qoute from the ActiveSync page:

For Pocket PC 2000/2002 and Windows Mobile 2003/2003SE users, ActiveSync 4.x may not be for you, since it no longer supports features such as syncing over WiFi; however, it is recommended that you use ActiveSync 4.x for Windows Mobile 5 since the 4.x series was designed specifically for that Operating System.
