At the IMID(Internation Meeting on Information Display) 2006 exhibition in Korea Samsung showed off what is currently the smallest VGA display on the market(to my kowledge anyway, if you find one smaller let me know). The 1.98" VGA a-Si LCD uses Samsung's own ASG (Armorphous Silicon Gate) technology. This allows for high speed access to the display and up to 16.7 million colors(that's right 32-bit color depth people). I would not be surprised to see this show up in smartphones in the near future.
